For centuries, the simple beauty of the Shemoneh Esrei, also known as the Amidah, has been the heartfelt prayer of generations. Shemoneh Esrei literally means “eighteen,” while Amidah means “standing.” Though originally composed of eighteen blessings, this daily prayer now contains nineteen.
The Amidah is a sacred standing before God—recalling His greatness and holiness, His faithfulness and abundant mercy. Through its words, we praise Him, seek His favor and forgiveness, bring before Him the needs of His people, and give thanks for His goodness.
In this narrated version, Elisha Noy and Ralph Messer guide us through the Amidah in both Hebrew and English, accompanied by beautiful piano compositions. Together, the words and music create a passionate and meaningful experience, inviting us to slow down, reflect, and connect more deeply with the prayer.
