Life in the midst of Good & Evil

"...but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat" (Genesis 2:17)

With all the trees in the Garden, why were the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the only two trees God singled out by name?

The Tree of Life was given to provide fruit of eternal life. The Tree of the Knowledge was forbidden as it led only to death.
