DV-Two Ages:Gnosticism
TWO AGES - GNOSTICISM My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

The scriptures tell us of the desirability of knowledge. However, is all knowledge good? During the period in which the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) was written and faith in Yeshua was spreading, a counterfeit Gospel was rising in the earth. A philosophy and world view known as Gnosticism, was having a major impact in the hearts and minds of God's people.

Gnosticism is basically 'special knowledge'. The religious idea is that people are inherently dual in nature, both spiritual and physical. The spiritual man was good and the natural or physical man, was bad or evil. These two opposing forces - spiritual and physical - good and evil - in essence, determine the course of events. It even went so far as to declare that the God of the Old Testament was evil and harsh, whereas the God of the New Testament was good and kind. Gnosticism is in total opposition to the Hebraic/Biblical understanding of God and man.

Journey with Rabbi Messer as he takes you into the realm of the: ó Olam Hazeh - the present world or age ó Olam Haba - the future world or age Learn how to recognize Gnostic thought in discussions and writings in today's culture. Its influence runs deeper than you think!
